Mobb Deep was an influential American hip-hop duo consisting of Havoc (Kejuan Muchita) and Prodigy (Albert Johnson). Formed in Queens, New York, in the early 1990s, Mobb Deep played a significant role in shaping the East Coast hip-hop scene.

Their breakthrough came with the release of their second album, "The Infamous," in 1995. The album is widely regarded as a classic in the genre, featuring gritty and atmospheric production by Havoc, along with Prodigy's vivid and introspective lyricism. Tracks like "Shook Ones (Part II)" and "Survival of the Fittest" became iconic in the hip-hop landscape.

Mobb Deep continued to make an impact with subsequent albums like "Hell on Earth" (1996) and "Murda Muzik" (1999). Their music often delved into the harsh realities of street life, providing a raw and authentic portrayal of their experiences.

Despite facing internal struggles and a brief hiatus, Mobb Deep remained a respected force in hip-hop. Prodigy's passing in 2017 marked the end of an era, but their legacy lives on through their influential body of work, contributing to the rich tapestry of East Coast hip-hop.
